Places of Interest in the Environs of Naz/Natz

South Tyrol is rich in history, culture, and tradition and offers a considerable number of sights and attractions. Gems of cultural history and stunning natural scenery await your discovery.

Combine nature and activity on your vacation with a city tour.
Immerse yourself in the historic atmosphere of the medieval towns of Vipiteno/Sterzing, Chiusa/Klausen or Bressanone/Brixen, just about 7 km away from Naz-Sciaves. All these historic cities have a charming old town with picturesque alleys, impressive facades from different historic periods, and alleyways along medieval arcades lined with inviting shops and cafes.
Discover unique monasteries like Neustift Monastery (Kloster Neustift) near Bressanone/Brixen or the Sabiona Abbey/Kloster Säben.
The Augustinian Abbey of Neustift is one of the most important monasteries in Tyrol. It houses a baroque monastery church, a library with precious manuscripts, an art gallery with an impressive collection of Gothic panel paintings and a historic monastery garden.
The Abbey Kloster Säben is much to tell about the historical mountain fortress near Chiusa/Klausen.The mountain, referred to locally as “The Holy Mountain" is thus one of Tyrol’s oldest shrines.

Here, Italian cuisine merges with the hearty Tyrolean cuisine. If you find yourself in the urban context, try one of the hip summer aperitifs and most popular refreshers of the region, like Veneziano, Hugo, or Estivo. Any good meal can be made even better when paired with a glass of local wine!

An exciting journey through the natural and cultural history of South Tyrol
You can trace culture and history all around the country, in many public and private institutions. If you enjoy visiting museums while on holiday, you will find a wide range in South Tyrol dedicated to natural history and culture-historical topics such as archeology, geology, or mining history. The South Tyrol region has the highest density of castles in Europe, with over 800 full-fledged castles, as well as palaces and historic manor houses.

Discover the Dolomites
The architect Le Corbusier once stated that, “The Dolomites in South Tyrol are the most beautiful building in the world.”

The Dolomites, also called pale mountains, are dreamlike landscapes for nature lovers and mountaineers, but they are also the natural habitat for many wild animals and rare plants. The most spectacular mountain ranges of the Dolomites are now a UNESCO World Heritage Site – among others, there are the Puez-Geisler/Puez-Odle mountains, the Alpe di Siusi Alpine pasture, the Three Peaks of Lavaredo (Drei Zinnen in German), and the Catinaccio/Rosengarten massif. These mountain ranges distinguish themselves from others by the abrupt transition between rugged cliffs and gentle meadows.
Did you know that ten different high altitude trails traverse the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Dolomites?
