Every year, on May 1
, contestants in Naz-Sciaves/Natz-Schabs line up to compete for the title. Every year, our Apples Queens welcomes a long list of other Royal Highnesses, including, among others, the Queen of the poppy, onion, etc.
On April 30, there is a welcome toast to these Royal Highnesses. The various queens are given the opportunity to present their region with the characteristics of the product they represent, before the closing with a typical Tyrolean feast
in the evening.
An extensive supporting program adds to the proceedings of the Royal Festival
. Good-natured fun and a party atmosphere is courtesy of morning program.
Along the Royal Mile
, the queens speak of their regions of origin, sign autographs and make themselves available for souvenir photos.
In the early afternoon a large procession winds its way through the streets of Naz/Natz, with participants dressed in elaborate costumes. The queens parade through the crowd accompanied by a band and folk dancers.
There are typical South Tyrolean arts and crafts on offer at the farmers market
and a special playground for the kids.
