Hike from Natz-Schabs to Brixen

From countryside to town

Brixen is South Tyrol’s oldest city, and former seat of Prince Bishops. The mediaeval old town is home to beautiful arcades, the baroque cathedral and cloister, the parish church with its striking white tower and the Prince Bishop’s Hofburg, which houses the Diocesan Museum. A wide variety of shops, restaurants and cafes provide a wonderful opportunity to take a leisurely wander around the city and have fun.
Brixen is around 4 km from Natz-Schabs and is easily accessible on foot. A regular bus service runs between Natz-Schabs and Brixen every half hour.

Nature hike from Natz to Brixen

From the church in Natz, follow marked trail no. 4 down to Raas and on to Neustift Abbey, where you can either follow marked trail no. 16 along the Eisack river or hike through the vineyards on marked trail no. 16A to Brixen (approx. 45 minutes). From Brixen, you can take the public bus back to Natz.

For the hike from Natz to Brixen, first follow the path marked with number 1 to Elvas and reach the city of Brixen via the descent marked 1, 2, or the Archaeological Trail.
